In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of prohibited practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden sect.

The questline concentrates on "peculiar trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Transformations

The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

Third Free Story Content

This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
